Hi, I’m Kathy, founder of Renew & Rise. I started this business so I could spend more time with my daughter while still doing work I genuinely love, helping schools with the website support they don’t always have time or resources to manage themselves.
My Background
I have more than 15 years of experience in communications and marketing, across corporate, nonprofit, and education settings.
I started in corporate marketing, where I built and proofed slide decks for executive teams and wrote blog content. From there, I moved into the nonprofit world, working in the fundraising department of a child welfare organization, writing email newsletters and marketing communications for donors, volunteers, and staff.
I then spent several years in private school marketing, including as a Marketing & Communications Officer at a small private school for students with autism and Asperger’s, where I managed social media, email marketing, and the school’s Finalsite website. Most recently, I worked as a website specialist at a large private school in Florida, where I used Finalsite daily, managing digital marketing, social media, email campaigns, form creation, and ongoing website updates. I also led a full year-long website redesign in partnership with the Finalsite team, along with redesigns of two additional school program websites.
Why I Do This Work
Throughout my experience, I’ve noticed a recurring challenge: small marketing teams struggle to find the time needed to keep their websites updated. Many schools lack the budget for an additional marketing position, which means that often, teams of just one or two must focus only on the most urgent tasks. This leaves important updates overlooked, which can significantly impact their outreach and engagement. Websites get neglected not because people don’t care, but because they’re stretched too thin.
I started Renew & Rise to be the extra set of hands these schools need, bringing hands-on, experienced support to mission-driven work I genuinely care about.
